10th International Conference on the Law of the Sea

On 18 and 19 November 2025 Alex Oude Elferink participated in the 10th International Conference on the Law of the Sea in Seoul, Korea. 

It was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Society of International Law of the Sea and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. He was part of a panel by Judge Paik Jin-Hyun with Sir Micheal Wood and Natalie Klein on the past and future the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea’s role in Ocean Governance. In a panel moderated by Judge Kriangsak Kitticahisaree he presented on and discussed the International Court of Justice’s 2023 judgment in Question of the Delimitation of the Continental Shelf between Nicaragua and Colombia beyond 200 nautical miles from the Nicaraguan Coast (Nicaragua v. Colombia).
