Extra opportunities

For students looking for an extra challenge in addition to their Master's, there are several options.

Familiarisation sessions

The coordinator of the research Master’s programme organises extracurricular activities, including familiarisation sessions where students of the research Master’s programme Global Urban Transformations are introduced to the department, get to know researchers and ongoing research projects and are as such included in the wider research community. The familiarisation sessions provide excellent opportunities for informal contact between students and staff. Students in this programme will also be invited to attend lectures and seminars series organised by researchers in the fields of economic geography, urban geography, spatial planning and international development studies.

Honouring your curiosity

Utrecht University offers several honours programmes for students looking for an extra avenue to nurture their curiosity and foster their personal development. Honours education is followed on top of your regular Master’s programme. The UU Honours College offers 4 university-wide honours programmes.
