''I want to combine my passion for researching and learning new things with my wish to build on a sustainable and just world!''
My decision to apply for this programme was driven by my desire to do a small-scale, research-oriented Master's with an international focus. The Master's programme provides me with an opportunity to enhance my research skills in an environment with highly motivated students and lecturers who are leading academics in their field. I currently specialize in economic geography, industrial regions and green innovation.
The thing I like most about this Master's is that the Master's thesis can be written abroad. Lecturers of the programme supported me in making my dream come true: they helped me in getting the Fulbright Scholarship and connecting me with the geography department of the University of California, Los Angeles to write my thesis in the United States.
I would like to pursue a PhD and work in academia, combining my passion for researching and learning new things with my desire to build on a sustainable and just world!

''The programme gave me the opportunity to work on my Master’s thesis at an institute for economic research in Vienna.''
I began this research Master's programme because I really enjoyed working on my Bachelor's thesis and therefore wanted to work either in academia or doing applied research. The courses provided sufficient room to explore in which field of research I wanted to specialize, namely the geography of innovation. Furthermore, the small size of the group not only allowed for a lot of personal guidance from the teachers, but it also resulted in some wonderful friendships. The programme also gave me the opportunity to work on my Master’s thesis at an institute for economic research in Vienna, which was a great experience.

''What I liked the most about this programme is the format of small groups and the interactive approach.''
I come from Mexico, where I did my Bachelor’s in International Relations. After that I wanted to pursue a Master’s in Human Geography aiming to further study cities as global actors, and how different types of mobilities shape and reshape the urban fabric. During the programme, I mainly focused on the Urban Geography side, increasing my qualitative research skills, and my knowledge on urban governance and sustainability, as well as migration and diversity.
What I liked the most about this programme is the format of small groups and the interactive approach in which we are encouraged to share our thoughts generating a rich multidisciplinary debate as my classmates and I had all different academic backgrounds. This programme gives you the tools to strive for a career in academia, but also in the private sector. Today I work in a tech company centered on students at secondary and tertiary education level worldwide, where I have had the chance to apply various things I learned during the Master’s.
