The Costas Lemos Innovation Programme (CLIP) Scholarships
The CML Foundation and the Utrecht University Fund proudly announce that applications are now open for a new cohort of Costas Lemos Innovation Programme (CLIP) Scholarships.
The CLIP Scholarships have been established to equip excellent Greek students with the tools to confront our most pressing environmental challenges. Up to five CLIP Scholarships are provided annually to students who have completed undergraduate studies in Greece, and hold either a Greek passport or Greek residence, and who plan to pursue a Master’s programme at the Faculty of Geosciences at Utrecht University. The scholarship offers full coverage of tuition fees and a contribution to living expenses for a maximum of 24 months.
The CLIP Scholarships are administered by the CML Foundation in collaboration with the Utrecht University Fund.

Who is eligible?
Students holding a Greek passport or have Greek residence, who:
- have applied for a Master’s programme at the Faculty of Geosciences at Utrecht University
- will be starting their master’s programme on 1 September 2026
- have completed their undergraduate studies in Greece
- have shown academic achievement in their previous studies
- have the ambition to work on sustainable solutions to environmental problems.
How can I apply?
In order to be considered for a CLIP scholarship, you must submit your application before 5 July 2026:
- After having applied for a Master’s programme, you can go to the form
- Complete the application form by providing the requested information and answering the three questions
- Submit your application
Selection will start after the deadline, and may involve you being invited for an online interview. We aim to publish the results by the beginning of August 2026.
Please note: If you your application is incomplete or contains incorrect information, or if you do not meet one of the requirements, you will unfortunately be ineligible for the scholarship.
Selection criteria
The applications will be reviewed by the selection committee. The committee will consider:
- academic achievement, as shown by grades and other accomplishments
- personal background, as demonstrated by a variety of factors, including but not limited to educational experience, socio-economic background and financial needs
- your ambition to work on sustainable solutions to environmental problems, including in Greece
