As a Banking and Finance student, you will receive a high-quality education in a stimulating academic environment. Our teaching staff are experts in their field and have substantial experience in practice.
Core lecturers of our programme include:
- Dr Rients Galema, associate professor of Finance. His research focuses on sustainable finance and banking. He teaches the courses Risk Management in Financial Institutions and Ethics in Finance.
- Dr Dirk Gerritsen, associate professor for the section Finance. His research is directed to financial markets, financial institutions, and behavior of financial consumers. He teaches the course Investment Management.
- Drs Casper Kaandorp. Casper works at the faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences and teaches in methodology and statistics. He teaches the course Financial Data Analytics and Professional Skills.
- Dr Bilge Karatas, assistant professor of Finance. Her main research areas are Financial Economics, Monetary Economics, and Financial Crises. She teaches the course Financial Markets and Institutions.
- Dr Maurizio Montone, associate professor of Finance. His primary research area is asset pricing, both theoretical and empirical, with a particular emphasis on behavioral finance. He teaches Fintech (research project) and Asset Pricing (elective).
- Dr Thomas Walther, associate professor of Finance. His research focuses on energy and commodity finance, international finance, and financial econometrics with applications to risk management. He teaches the course Financial Data Analytics and Algorithm in Finance (elective).
