Extra opportunities
For students looking for an extra challenge in addition to their Master's, there are several options.
Community building
Throughout the year activities are organised by both the Arts & Society programme and the Department of Media and Culture to encourage community building within and amongst programmes. For example, the academic year starts with an introduction programme of two days, organised in collaboration with partners such as the Gaudeamus Festival. The programme includes seminars, workshops, and performances.
Other activities throughout the year include the Meet the Makers series, the Transmission in Motion seminars, and other master classes and social get-togethers. The Meet the Makers programme aims to facilitate meetings and conversations between academic researchers and students, and makers – i.e. artists, curators, dramaturges, designers or other creative practitioners and professionals within the wider field of arts & culture.
Student initiatives are valued in our community. Involvement with internships, industry partners and various Utrecht-based community-building activities foster an environment for the students that encourages the development of entrepreneurial community projects, whether this is collaborating to start businesses, participation in creative foundations, or civic engagement and volunteering.
Honouring your curiosity
