At the moment we are in the final phase of education block 2 (until 7 February). Practicals and tests are on location. Lectures and tutorials are online, unless a programme decides otherwise.
Yesterday, the demissionary Cabinet announced (in Dutch) that primary and secondary schools will again be able to provide education on location as of 10 January. Unfortunately, this does not yet apply to higher education. For the time being, only practical education and tests can be held on location. Lectures and tutorials will remain online.
A lockdown was announced for the whole of the Netherlands on December 18. During the current block 2 (until 7 February) only practical education and tests will take place on location. Lectures and workgroups will remain online.
Lecturers have a crucial profession. They can make use of care facilities at primary schools and nurseries. They can also be tested with priority at the GGD.
Lectures proceed on location without 1.5 metres distance and a maximum group size of 75 people, working from home remains the norm and current state of affairs until at least 18 December.
The 1.5 metre distancing measure was already announced to disappear as of 25 September, as well as that it will no longer be compulsory to wear a face mask or follow walking routes in university buildings.
