Franck Meijboom on European regulations for healthier breeding
The NOS asked Professor Franck Meijboom for his views on new European animal welfare regulations.
His message is clear: it is crucial to tackle the import of animals bred in unhealthy conditions, although international enforcement remains a significant challenge. In the Netherlands, we are leading the way in this regard. The Expertise Centre for Genetics in Veterinary Medicine actively contributes to knowledge and solutions for the prevention of hereditary disorders in companion animals.
