Research focus: history of corporations and institutions, biographies
 

Joost Dankers is historian and researcher of the corporate world in the twentieth century. By translating research assignments from society to historical research and by initiating research projects, he facilitates knowledge transfer and the societal impact of the Humanities.

As Manager Commissioned Research, he has ample experience with initiating and organising research projects in the field of the Humanities in general, and History in particular. He supervises these projects both organisationally and on their content, from the phase of the first research proposal all the way to the completion and presentation of the end results.

Among many others, Joost initiated and supervised research projects on behalf of Royal Dutch Shell, Heineken International, Tata Steel Netherlands and Royal Dutch Airlines KLM. He also helped to launch and secured funding for the three biographies on the Dutch kings William I, II and III, and was co-initiator and co-manager of the series Business in the Netherlands in the Twentieth Century (BINT). He currently supervises research commissioned by The Teutonic Order, Nyenrode Business University. the municipality of Hilversum and the business interest organisation of the Dutch metallurgical sector, Royal Metaalunie.
