Governing land subsidence in Indonesia - Future Deltas

Governing land subsidence in Indonesia

Recently, a number of areas in Indonesia are facing land subsidence problems. Various levels of government have designed disaster management plans and spatial planning in order to reduce the problems. This project explores the gaps amongst actual government’s policies and suggests that there is a need to involve multi stakeholders – local governments, communities, civil society organizations, academics, and private sectors – on dealing with land subsidence problems to achieve effective governance.
