Debye Symposium: Twenty-two years of Bose-Einstein condensation in Utrecht

In the summer of 2004, the first Bose-Einstein condensate was created in Utrecht and the last one came into existence on November 13th, 2025 at 17:05. We will celebrate more than two decades of research with an international symposium in the Science Park in Utrecht honoring the field of ultra-cold atoms and molecules. Scientists from the Netherlands and abroad will discuss their recent successes and dwell upon the future of this area of science.

At the end of the symposium, Peter van der Straten will deliver his valedictory lecture.
