Think Like an Entrepreneur workshop

to

Brilliant ideas are only brilliant when they are executed. Are you curious what great entrepreneurs and innovators do differently from people just talking about ‘The Next Big Thing’? Come and learn about effectual thinking so that you have the tools to turn your dreams into reality.

Effectuation is a way of thinking and decision-making that is focused on creating opportunities and solving problems by using the resources that are already available to you, rather than making predictions and trying to plan for the future (causal thinking).

Lots of successful entrepreneurs use effectual thinking to create their future by taking action and making things happen. But you can use this way of thinking for every idea or dream that you might have. In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will take you through the basic principles of Effectuation and practice with their application. You’ll walk out of the workshop with your very first next step.

For whom?

Any UU-student interested to learn more! There’s no prior knowledge or preparation necessary. The workshop is free of charge, but we do expect you to show up and participate once you’ve registered. You can find more information about our no-show policy below. The language of the workshop is English.

This workshop is given by Bianca Meyer, community manager of the UU Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Our no-show policy

We are happy to offer our workshops for free. However: free of charge does not mean free of responsibility. Our workshops live from the interaction between participants. Additionally, we love to treat participants with snacks and drinks. Every late cancellation or no-show makes this less possible. To be able to continue with our offer, we need YOU to work together with us. This is how we work:

  • Once you have signed up for a workshop, we expect you to attend;

  • If you need to cancel your registration, do so at the earliest possible moment, at least 24 hours before the workshop;

  • Not showing up without notice will mean you cannot participate in any of our activities for 8 weeks. Two no-shows mean you cannot participate for the remainder of the academic year.

The UU Centre for Entrepreneurship organizes workshops around skills that are valuable in any situation that requires ideas to be put into action - whether you’re interested in entrepreneurship or just looking for personal or professional development.
