From 2 to 4 September 2019, the second international workshop in Economic Complexity, Economic Geography & Innovation will take place. The aim of this workshop is to bring researchers and young scholars together to understand the accumulation of knowledge and spillovers through products, people and places.
There will be several keynote speakers during the workshop from different universities and organizations. Four keynote speakers are from Utrecht University, which are prof. Pierre-Alexandre Balland, prof. Ron Boschma, prof. Koen Frenken and prof. Jan Luiten van Zanden. We are also very pleased to welcome Cesar Hidalgo from MIT. The remainder keynote speakers are from different universities, such as North Carolina and Oxford, and organizations such as the Netherlands EAA.
For the workshop, papers can be applied that contain a contribution to the fields of Economic Complexity, Economic Geography & Innovation. The submission deadline is 1 June and the notification of acceptance is 15 June.
The event is organised by the staff of economic geography at Utrecht University, INET-Young Scholars Initiative, and MIT MediaLab.
