Symposium with Christine Hayes: Understanding Judaism

On 20 and 21 March, Christine Hayes (Yale University), among others, will speak at the two-day symposium Understanding Judaism: New Approaches to Rabbinic Literature. Other prominent speakers include Peter Tomson, Martin Goodman, Lutz Doering and Annette Merz.

Study of Rabbinic literature

The symposium is organised on the occasion of Hayes’ groundbreaking volume ‘The Literature of the Sages: A Re-Visioning’. Speakers will the ways recent developments in the study of Rabbinic literature affect long-standing modes of approaching culture, religion, and society in Late Antiquity. 

It is organised by BRILL, Radboud University, Noster, CRINT and Utrecht University.
