On Friday 27 October, a symposium on 'Language Impairment and Bilinglualism' will be organised on the occasion of the PhD thesis defence of Tessel Boerma MA (Special Education: Cognitive & Motor Disabilities) about the effects of language impairment and bilingualism on children’s linguistic and cognitive development.
The symposium will take place between 09.30 and 12.00 in the Belle van Zuylenzaal in the University Hall. Speakers will be Prof. Johanne Paradis (University of Alberta, Canada), Dr Jan de Jong (University of Bergen, Norway/University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands) and Dr Pascale Engel de Abreu (University of Luxembourg). A detailed programme with titles and abstracts will follow. On the same day at 14.30 Boerma will defend her dissertation in the University Hall.
