Studium Generale – What do we need for just a food transition?
Ecological economist Dr Julia Tschersich (UU) on how to create a just and inclusive food transition.
The latest projections by the United Nations suggest that the global population could grow to 9.7 billion people in 2050. How do we make sure everyone has enough to eat?Our current global food system is insufficient. It’s not only destroying the planet, but it’s also deeply unfair. Food is not distributed evenly around the world, and in many places, food accessibility is limited. According to ecological economist Dr Julia Tschersich (UU), it’s time for change. How do we make sure the transition to a more sustainable food transition is just and inclusive?
In collaboration with Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development & Future Food Utrecht (UU).
