Sport in Africa Day

The Dutch Association for Africa Studies (NVAS) will organize, in collaboration with Sport & Society, a Sport in Africa Day. On the 15th of October 2016, Africa-experts, students, athletes and sport administrators will meet and share their experience and knowledge about the meaning of sport in African societies. The event will take place at the Utrecht School of Governance.

Call for presentations

The organizing committee invites researchers and other experts  to submit an abstract of max. 200 words. At the Sport in Africa Day there will be a 15-minute time slot for each presentation. Abstracts will be selected on the basis of their relevance to the central theme and its scientific quality. Also if one is not yet ready to submit a scientific paper he/she is most welcome to send in an abstract (max. 200 words). Take a look at the criteria for the abstracts

Important Dates

  • 24 June: Deadline for abstract submissions;
  • 31 July: Selection of abstracts by the organising committee.
