Dr. Sonja Kruisinga

Last summer, a bill was presented to the Dutch Parliament, which intends to introduce a specialized court designed to meet the growing need for efficient dispute resolution of civil or commercial matters with an international aspect. The name of this court will be the Netherlands Commercial Court (NCC) and in appeal the Netherlands Commercial Court of Appeal (NCCA). This court will allow to conduct the proceedings in English. The NCC will be a special chamber of the Amsterdam District Court and of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. This lecture discusses the proposed introduction of this court from the perspective of corporations with regard to litigation in an international context.
