Seminar featuring Professor Andrew A. Schwartz: Investment Crowdfunding
Organized by RENFORCE – Public Interest Ecosystems

Discover the evolution of crowdfunding investment at our seminar featuring professor Andrew A. Schwartz (University of Colorado at Boulder, School of Law), a leading authority on Investment Crowdfunding. Explore this transformative concept and its global impact as Professor Schwartz presents insights from his influential book and extensive research, which provides a chance to delve into the nuances of investment crowdfunding's legal landscape and its implications for entrepreneurs and investors worldwide.
The Utrecht Centre for Regulation and Enforcement in Europe (RENFORCE) and the Public Interest Ecosystems (PIE) building block are delighted to extend an invitation for an engaging presentation by Andrew A. Schwartz, Professor of Law at the University of Colorado, on the topic of 'Investment Crowdfunding'.
This innovative concept, a new and inclusive form of online venture capital market, opens doors for all investors and entrepreneurs, similar to Kickstarter, but with the added benefit of backers receiving a share of stock. What makes this all possible is the unique and recent legislation in the US, EU, and globally that authorizes these previously prohibited offerings of unregistered securities.
Drawing from his recently published book Investment Crowdfunding (Oxford University Press 2023), the definitive guide to this new field, and his extensive on-the-ground research, including as a Fulbright Scholar in New Zealand, Professor Schwartz will introduce investment crowdfunding and describe how it works in various jurisdictions around the world.
