Religious Transformation and Gender Contestations in/and the study of religion, gender and sexuality

This conference is organized as part of the NWO-funded research project Beyond ‘Religion vs Emancipation’: Gender and Sexuality in Women’s Conversions to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Contemporary Western Europe, headed by Prof. Anne-Marie Korte (Religious Studies).  

The three-day conference will be organized in association with the International Association for the Study of Religion and Gender (IARG) and partially funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), who has funded our research project “Beyond ‘Religion vs Emancipation’: Gender and Sexuality in Women’s Conversions to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Contemporary Western Europe” for the past five years.
