R Cafe: Shiny - interactive web apps straight from R

Do you want to enhance your R skills, meet other R programmers or ask questions related to R? Take your laptop with you and come to the R Cafe!

During this informal meetup, we will help each other with R programming, data handling and cleaning challenges. If you don’t have an issue, you are also welcome at the R Cafe, just to work on your code, or do learning exercises we prepared for you.

Theme: Shiny - interactive web apps straight from R

Your R analysis comes to life when you combine it with a Shiny application. Shiny is an R package that makes it easy to build interactive web apps straight from R. PhD candidate Kimberley Lek is an enthusiastic Shiny user. She will show how Shiny works and how she uses it in her work as a social scientist. Kees van Eijden tells us what the IT department of Utrecht University can do for you to publish your Shiny application.

The demonstration and showcase will be brief (20-25 minutes), with room for individual questions and discussions afterwards.
