Organisers

The Copernicus Institute on Sustainable Development is part of Utrecht University’s Faculty of Geosciences. It occupies a unique position in the University as an interdisciplinary natural/social sciences department and is the only department at Utrecht University that solely focuses on sustainability research.

The International Panel on Earth System Governance (IPESG) brings together a global community of social science and interdisciplinary researchers to better understand how societies can respond to planetary challenges. Through a large-scale scientific assessment, IPESG aims to make knowledge on earth system governance more accessible and useful for decision-making.
