PhD Pitch Higher Education Research

to

Higher education is changing rapidly and needs to do so to keep pace with changes in society. Education strives increasingly for interdisciplinarity, societal interaction, and flexibility of programmes. In the focus area Higher Education Research, researchers at Utrecht University work together to examine implications of the afore mentioned changes for teaching and learning in higher education.

In the coming months we will organise PhD pitches, to stimulate the exchange of educational research across faculties. The meetings take place every second Tuesday of the month between 16:00 and 17:00. During the next meeting (13 April 2021), Karlijn Soppe will talk about her research. After a pitch (fifteen minutes), there will be room for questions and interaction.

  • Karlijn Soppe (FSBS) is a PhD candidate at the Methods and Statistics department. Her research focuses on matching in higher education (studiekeuzecheck). Her goal is to compare the effectiveness of different types of matching procedures on student enrollment behavior and academic success.

The upcoming events will take place on: 11th May 2021, 8th June 2021. We invite you to these meetings, would like to ask you if you would like to draw our attention to PhD students in the field of higher education research, and ask you to forward this email to Higher Education Research PhD students.
