At the annual conference of Pathways to Sustainability all sustainability related researchers and partners come together. The upcoming conference will take place on 24 January 2019 at TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht.
The programme of the upcoming conference features keynotes from Sheila Jasanoff (Professor of Science and Technology Studies, Harvard University), Jeroen Willemsen (founder of the Green Protein Alliance), and Diederik Samsom (chair Klimaattafel Gebouwde Omgeving, nuclear physicist and former politician).
In the afternoon there are several break-out sessions on the topics of the energy transition, future food, future deltas, circular economy and circular cities, and the creation of a sustainable campus. We close off with an interactive discussion about the role of the university in the transition to a sustainable society.
In between these programme elements you can visit the Sustainable Marketplace, representing all kinds of initiatives within Utrecht University related to sustainability. And during the vegetarian lunch and other breaks there is plenty of opportunity to get in touch with other sustainability experts.
Pathways to Sustainability is one of four strategic research themes of Utrecht University. Over 1200 academics and partners from a broad range of disciplines join forces in new research collaborations within the university and society to explore pathways to just and sustainable futures for all.
