Opening of the Utrecht University Hydrogen Lab
Utrecht University is pleased to announce the official opening ceremony of the Utrecht University Hydrogen Lab. Join us to celebrate this milestone together and explore the opportunities that the new Hydrogen Lab can bring to our research community!
This state-of-the-art facility is funded in part through the Dutch Groenvermogen Groeifonds programme and marks a significant milestone in strengthening the university’s contribution to the national energy transition and advancing scientific excellence in hydrogen research.
Programme
The programme will begin with an opening and welcome by Dr. Hamed Aslannejad, Chair of the Utrecht University Hydrogen Initiative. Utrecht University Rector Magnificus Prof. Wilco Hazeleger will reflect on the university’s strategic vision for sustainability and energy innovation. This will be followed by a keynote address on the latest developments in national hydrogen projects and policy directions by Dr. Jörg Gigler (Managing Director, Topsector Energy). Further, Prof. Gert Jan Kramer will present insights into the long-term role of hydrogen in the energy transition, and Dr. Hamed Aslannejad, will outline the initiative’s research roadmap and strategic activities.
There will also be a panel discussion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and guided tours showcasing the new laboratory facilities. From 16:45 onwards, there will be informal networking with drinks.
