Movie Night ANÂAQ

In the context of 50 years of labor migration in the Netherlands, Atlas Culture Center and Het Utrechts Archief are organizing the film night ANÂAQ on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Anâaq
ANÂAQ (migrate) is a documentary about the Moroccan migrants who first tried their luck in French-occupied Algeria and then ventured across to Europe. The stories of the migrants in this documentary are diverse and mostly very inspiring. From hard workers to fortune seekers. The hunger for the silenced past of these migrants is great. After all, it is this generation that made the future of the younger generation of Dutch Moroccans here possible.
ANÂAQ is a film by Mohamed Bouzia & Kacem Achahboun, produced by Brahim Azamouri of Sharp Eye Media on behalf of the Hiwaar Foundation.
Programme
The film begins at 19:30 (walk-in from 19:00) at the Hamburgerstraat 28 location of Het Utrechts Archief.
After the film screening, Sahin Yildirim, the author of the books 50 Years, 50 Stories, Half a Century in the Netherlands and Boundless Love will talk to a number of guest workers about the film and their personal experiences.
Note that the film screening and disucssion will be in Dutch.
