to

Language: English
Work Form: Workshop

Invite your students to develop 21st century skills with media assignments. In this workshop, you will discover how to use videos and podcasts as alternative ways of learning in higher education. Media assignments can allow students to engage more deeply with the subject matter. They get to work on creating their own content while developing essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration and digital literacy.

During the workshop, we will discuss how to effectively integrate these media assignments into your teaching practices. You will learn how to ensure that the assignment aligns with the learning objectives of your course and how to assess such assignments. We share experiences of teachers and students, and give tips about the facilities that Utrecht University offers to carry out such assignments. Because more support is possible than many instructors realize.

Students often indicate that working with media assignments motivates them and helps them understand the material better. This approach gives them the opportunity to develop their creativity and technical skills. In short, an enriching learning experience that benefits both you and your students!
