On 10 December, the Netherlands Research School of Gender Studies (NOG) organises the next Doing Gender Lecture. In this lecture, Akita Mukherjee discusses the broad questions and themes explored in her upcoming book, Beyond Transgender: The Social and Political Lives of Gender Nonconforming People in India.
Mukherjee examines how gender nonconforming people (GNCP) navigate the politics of identity and community in relation to transformations driven by HIV/AIDS activism and transgender rights legislations.
