Kick-off Event Bottom-up Initiatives for Societal Change

On June 27th, Bottom-up Initiatives for Societal Change organizes a kick-off event to introduce this new IOS Platform.

This new platform is a synergy of the previous hubs Future of Citizen-based Initiatives (FOCI) and Social Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI), and the stream Institutions, Innovation and Prosperity (IIP). During this event we explore the possibilities for new collaborations and show the expertise in the field of bottom-up initiatives within Utrecht University.

First of all, Prof. Niels Bosma (UU), Dr. Karin Geuijen (UU) and Raoul Becher (Creative Director, Starters4communitie) will present their new large NWO-KIC project “Boosting Social and Community-driven Entrepreneurship for the Transition to an Inclusive and Sustainable Society (SCENTISS)”. Subsequently, some break-out sessions will serve as a basis to explore common themes in our research and opportunities to establish new interdisciplinary collaborations for new research projects and education initiatives such as education for professionals. The best idea from the break-out sessions receives funding for further development.

The kick-off will take place in Paushuize from 2 p.m.. We close the meeting with a drink until about 6:00 p.m.. Please register if you are attending. The event will be held in English.

We would like to hear what research questions drive our research community and how the interdisciplinary collaboration within the platform can strengthen and expand this research. An option to share this with us is included in the registration form (not required). We can use this input to shape dynamic thematic group discussions at the event and in the future.
