IOS Community Day 2026
On September 17, Institutions for Open Societies (IOS) will bring the entire Utrecht University community together for the IOS Community Day. This event marks the official launch of the eight new IOS Communities. At a time when our society faces complex challenges, we are building an interdisciplinary network that does not just research, but also contributes to solutions for an open, inclusive, and resilient society. A day full of interaction, sharp reflections, and the building of (new) connections.

| 10.30-11.30 | Keynote: Visions for the Future Ingrid Robeyns will discuss her 'Visions for the Future' research, the methodology of interdisciplinary work, and the university's role in valuing this essential work. Following the keynote, we will engage in an interactive ‘World Café’ session. |

| 11.45-12.30 | Critical reflections We kick off with a series of thought-provoking contributions from speakers including Jolle Demmers and Brianne McGonigle Leyh. They will challenge us with a "critical compass": what are the priorities for IOS in this new phase, and which pitfalls should we avoid? |
