The Dutch have a long history of protecting their land against the constant threat of flooding, but with climate change intensifying, the country faces new and unprecedented challenges. This event, organized jointly by Science for Sustainability and Water and Climate and Future Deltas, aims to explore the challenges faced by the Netherlands in light of rising sea levels, melting ice caps, and disappearing mountain glaciers.

We will explore ways to slow down the process of sea level rise, examine strategies to mitigate the impact of global warming, and discuss the pros and cons of protecting the Netherlands versus seeking ways to coexist with the water.
