The graduate Gender Programme is organising an event ‘in hommage’ to the life-works of Saba Mahmood.
On March 10th, 2018, feminist and anthropologist Saba Mahmood passed away. She made a tremendous contribution to the understandings of secularism/religion, in relation to crucial concepts such as agency, subjectivity, piety, and embodiment captured in her groundbreaking books such as Politics of Piety: The Islamic Revival and the Feminist Subject (2012) and Religious Difference in a Secular Age: A Minority Report (2015).
Speakers are Dr Christoph Baumgartner, Dr Sarah Bracke and Prof. Rosi Braidotti. Several students will speak as well.
