GDS Talk: Rethinking Watching

to

This talk draws from and connects a recent collaboration with Jonathan Gray and Cathy Johnson to ongoing empirical and conceptual work in response to the challenges of studying ‘video audiences’ in the contemporary media ecosystem. The broader agenda of work (very much in process) investigates ‘watching’ across media (television, streaming, social and hosted) and focuses on human-level data and experience. The talk presents evidence from initial inductive interview fieldwork exploring media ‘diets’.
