September 19, the first Dutch Physical Activity Report Card for Children and Youth will be launched during a symposium – as part of the National Sports Week (Dutch: Nationale sportweek).
The United States and Canada have been publishing an annual 'school report' for more than ten years. These reports give insight in the achievements of the excercise and sedentary behaviour of youth nation wide. Since 2012, fourty countries establish Report Cards. Recently researchers from Utrecht University and University Medical Centrum Utrecht (UMCU) developed the first Dutch Physical Activity Report Card for Children and Youth. The research, partly funded by the focus area Sport & Society through seed money, compares cards between countries and stimulates learning between the different successful projects.
