First Alex Brenninkmeijer-dialogue: Who decides the future of democracy? A dialogue between generations

In these times of increasingly aggressive political and public debates, dialogue is needed more than ever. That is why the Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law and Administration of Justice at Utrecht University, together with Bureau Burgerberaad, is organizing the first Alex Brenninkmeijer Dialogue, on Thursday, April 3. Different generations will engage in a dialogue with each other and the audience present on the question: 'Who determines the future of democracy?'

Professor of Constitutional Law and former National Ombudsman Alex Brenninkmeijer was not only one of the sharpest and wisest defenders of the democratic rule of law, he also made a fundamental contribution to the acceptance of Citizens' Assemblies in the Netherlands. He advocated dialogue rather than debate to discuss major social issues.
