Faculty Club - One-act play ‘The Train’ (in Dutch)

to

A train, silent and unmoving, waits in time. Two lives, trapped in the present, are unexpectedly drawn back to a distant past. In an empty compartment sit an elderly gentleman and his wife, the silence around them heavy with memories. The train stands still, but his thoughts move to 1943, to another time, to another train. Join us on Thursday 8 May for a moving performance at the Faculty Club (in Dutch).

The leading roles are played by Mario, Madelief, Frits and Grace. Mario Wagenaar is team leader of the Public Services Department at the University Library. Together with director Randy, he can currently be seen in ‘40-45, the Musical’, where they are part of the extras ensemble.

What takes place in this moment is not just a ride, but a journey through time itself. As the doors of the past slowly open, the echoes of another life, another war, return. What was then, and what is now? Between the halt of the train and the passage of time, he finds himself again, with her, in that same, unreachable silence.
