Faculty Club – October Club Evening: In the spirit of Oktoberfest
Cheers to autumn during the October Club Evening! For more than two hundred years, Oktoberfest in Munich has brought people together to enjoy music, good company, and Bavarian hospitality. During this Club Night, we will bring a touch of that atmosphere to the Faculty Club. Enjoy live music, discover the story behind the world’s most famous beer festival, and join us for a delicious daily special.
The Club Evening is the perfect opportunity to meet colleagues, alumni, and other members of the university community in a relaxed setting. Guests are very welcome.

A touch of Bavaria at the Faculty Club
Oktoberfest is known worldwide for its lively beer tents, traditional Bavarian music, and welcoming atmosphere. What began as a royal wedding celebration in Munich in 1810 grew into an annual festival that attracts millions of visitors. During this Club Evening, we will bring that warm and convivial atmosphere to the Faculty Club.
Programma:
- 5.00 – 7.00 pm: Happy Hour with live music (drop-in welcome)
- 6.30 – 6.50 pm: The story of Oktoberfest: From royal wedding celebration to beer festival, by Prof. Ewout van der Knaap
- 7.15/7.30 – 9.00 pm: October daily special – Enjoy a delicious surprise dish and connect with colleagues, alumni, and guests (reservation required)
- 9.00 pm – End of the evening
Location: Faculty Club, entrance via the University Hall (Domplein 29, Utrecht)
Practical information
The October daily special is optional and costs €17.50 per person (reservation required). The Club will provide snacks, and drinks can be ordered at the bar throughout the evening. During Happy Hour, drinks are available at half price.
