Faculty Club Happy Hour November - From the heart

A heartwarming Happy Hour! On Thursday, 2 November, we will kick off our anniversary month with a special Happy Hour. A night centred on the members, the club and the lustrum, entitled "From the heart". The programme will include the reveal of the poem about the Faculty Club by Hanneke van Eijken, beautiful compliments from a compliment maker and heartwarming opera music by La Diva Decibella.

A special poem

To celebrate the lustrum, Hanneke van Eijken, one of the city poets and colleague, has written a poem for and about the Faculty Club. Hanneke is one of the city poets of the Utrecht City Poets Guild. She has published several poetry books in recent years and this year her work was also captured in the form of a mural. This is because on the Waalsteeg in Utrecht, her poem about resistance fighter Truus van Lier can be admired.

Compliments

While having a drink, you can be pampered with a sincere and personal compliment. A handwritten card carefully and lovingly highlights the best in a person. Sometimes touching, sometimes funny, but always heart-warming and effective. Receive a unique portrait of a first impression. A lovely feel-good moment with a compliment to put in your pocket.

Opera with a personal twist

During a delicious daily meal, the amazing opera singer Machteld van de Putte, better known as La Diva Decibella, will sing several heartwarming arias especially for you! Do you want to thank someone in a special way? A heart to heart? Or just surprise someone in an extraordinary way? Then sign up quickly and let us know who you would like to nominate to be put in the spotlight.

Please note that on the evening itself, there will be room to perform a number of arias. Therefore, the selection committee will make a choice from the various entries. Those selected will be notified in advance via email.

The programme

• 17:00 - 17:45: walk-in
• 17:45 - 18:00: presentation lustrum poem
• 19:00 - 21:00: daily special & opera
• 21:00 - 21:30: End

And between 17:00 - 19:00 there will also be a compliment maker walking around to write a compliment especially for you.
