On Thursday, May 7, you are warmly invited to our monthly Club Evening. This time, the evening will focus on the theme Utrecht in Wartime. Experience an inspiring evening with a fascinating lecture by emeritus professor of university history Leen Dorsman, live music, and interactive moments. Together, we will explore what freedom means in Utrecht and at the university.

The Club Evenings are the perfect opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with colleagues and former classmates, and stay updated on the latest developments in Utrecht's research and education. Guests are warmly welcome! The evening is free to attend; we kindly ask you to register for the meal.
Programme:
- 17:00 – 19:00: Happy Hour with live music by Trio Pont Neuf (free entry)
- 18:30 – 18:50: Content intermezzo: Utrecht in Wartime by Leen Dorsman
- 19:15/19:30 – 21:00: Daily Special – Be surprised by a delicious meal and join us for a cozy dinner (reservation required)
- 21:00: End of the evening
Practical information
The cost of the daily special is €17.50 per person, including the club’s bar snacks. Drinks can be purchased at the bar during the evening. During Happy Hour, drinks are half price.

About the speaker:
Prof. Dr. Leen Dorsman (1955) was a professor of university history until August 1, 2022. He taught and published on historiography, the theory of history, and university history. Dorsman received his PhD in 1990 with a dissertation on the historian G.W. Kernkamp. His interests lie in topics at the intersection of literature and history.
