Faculty Club - Charles Groenhuijsen on America's divided states

Will America still be alright? On 20 January 2025, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. Many Americans are worried about the future. America expert Charles Groenhuijsen likes to share his thoughts on American politics with us. During this evening there is plenty of room to ask questions.

On Thursday 30 January, America expert Charles Groenhuijsen will be our guest in the Faculty Club. During his lecture he will discuss, among other things, the two revolutions taking place in the US. On one side is the conservative movement, led by the Republicans and Donald Trump, which focuses on issues such as limiting lhbtiq+ rights, rolling back climate measures and strengthening religion in politics. On the other hand, there is a progressive movement among the younger generations, embodied by politicians such as Kamala Harris. This group stands for more tolerance, inclusiveness, and a secular America with a strong emphasis on climate policies and equal rights.
