From March 18 – March 28 the exhibition Journeys into Diversity will be on view in the foyer of the Bestuursgebouw, Uithof. It comprises photos, drawings, videos, objects and paintings made or brought by refugee students, their fellow students and teachers. The official opening of this exhibition has been postponed to Monday 25 March 12:30-13:30.
The exhibition aims to make visible and tangible a variety of experiences in and around UU education. The central question is ‘What does diversity mean within the UU?’. Visitors are invited to provide their input towards answering this question from their own unique perspective.
On Wednesday 20 March at 14:30 Dr Mary Bouquet will give a guided tour about the work exhibited and about the insights of the project team on diversity.
The workshops “Arts-based approaches to diversity” will be held on March 21 and June 18. In the workshops we will use arts-based activities (e.g. drawing, photography, and poetry) as a starting point to consider questions the concept of diversity poses and to discuss ways to maximize the potential of diversity in our daily practices. You can sign up here.
The exhibition 'Journeys into Diversity' is part of a Utrechts Stimuleringsfnds Onderwijs (USO) project 'Making Journeys: Building Blocks for Diversity' (2017-2019) in which University College Utrecht together with REBO (School of Governance), Humanities, and Human Resources of Utrecht University participated.
