Exhibition 'Alumni about tomorrow' on the Domplein
The exhibition 'Alumni about tomorrow' will be on the Domplein starting 3 September. Here you will get to know eight alumni who we’ve asked in this lustrum year how they work towards a better world. They have very different study and work backgrounds, but they certainly have one thing in common: they believe in the power of working together.
Virologist Marion Koopmans, for example, who argues that it is crucial that solutions to the pandemic come from different disciplines. Or Lena Hartog, who uses the principle of crowd acting in order to change the culture of fashion. And researcher Bas Testerink, who is the link between the police and the university and has a team of IT PhDs to make the Netherlands safer.
The starting point for the exhibition is the celebration of 385 years of science by the University of Utrecht and the UMC Utrecht. ‘Creating tomorrow together’ - the theme of this lustrum - resonates with many of our alumni. After all, the best way to work towards a better world is by joining forces.
We are proud of our alumni and believe that they can also inspire current students and other residents and visitors of our city. Longer versions of their stories can be read on uu.nl/alumni-tomorrow Here you can also find videos of four alumni.
