Excursions: Explore species in the Tiny Forest

From to

The first Tiny Forest in the Netherlands to be managed by a university can be found at Utrecht Science Park. As a result of a bright idea of two students of the Utrecht Biology Association (UBV), and the work of the Green Office, the Tiny Forest is thriving. How has this forest developed over the past five years? Join us for an excursion in the Tiny Forest.

In 2019 staff and students came together to plant a total of 500 indigenous trees and plants. What soil creatures, bees, butterflies and other insects have now established themselves here and in its surrounding area? Join us on Monday afternoon for an excursion. From May 27 to June 17 you can find us here from 16.00 to 17.00 hours. On June 17 we close with a picnic.

On these days the excursions take place:

27 May

16:00 - 17:00

3 June

16:00 - 17:00

10 June

16:00 - 17:00

17 June

16:00 - 18:00 (+ picknick!)

For whom?

All UU and HU students and colleagues who want to know more about the Tiny Forest! No prior knowledge or preparation is needed. We speak English and Dutch.

BioBlitz 2024: Discover biodiversity in Utrecht Science Park

During the BioBlitz from 22 May to 22 June, we invite all students and staff to spot and register as many species of plants, animals and fungi in USP as possible. By annually mapping which species live in USP, we can monitor whether our actions to strengthen biodiversity are effective. During the BioBlitz you can also participate in excursions and workshops on biodiversity.
