Evening excursion: Looking for bats

See your surroundings with different eyes. At different times of the day, you can find different animals. That's why we're going out at night. We will gather around sunset to look for bats. Afterwards, you will know which bat species can be found in Utrecht Science Park. We cannot make any promises, nature and weather conditions cannot be directed, but this is the best time of year to find bats. With this knowledge, you can also look for bats yourself at USP or elsewhere in the coming months.

For whom?

All UU and HU students and colleagues who want to know more about bats! No prior knowledge or preparation is needed. A bat detector will be provided. The excursion is free, but we do expect you to participate if you have registered. The language of this excursion is Dutch.

This excursion will be given by Colin Beekman, volunteer at Bat 030 – Utrecht Natuurlijk.

BioBlitz 2024: Discover biodiversity in Utrecht Science Park

During the BioBlitz from 22 May to 22 June, we invite all students and staff to spot and register as many species of plants, animals and fungi in USP as possible. By annually mapping which species live in USP, we can monitor whether our actions to strengthen biodiversity are effective. During the BioBlitz you can also participate in excursions and workshops on biodiversity.
