During this session, we explore a case in depth using the Utrecht step-by-step plan, a method for moral deliberation. The step-by-step plan lends itself particularly well to discussing concrete moral issues. Examples are: ‘What do I do when a student suddenly starts talking about Gaza during a lesson on a completely different subject?’, or ‘How do I react when students at the coffee machine ask what I think of the situation?’ The case study is systematically dissected so that discussion participants come to clearer insights together. The workshop is primarily intended as an introduction to the method, but of course, going deeper into the case itself can also provide the necessary substantive insights. Suggestions for a case to be discussed are most welcome!
