Digital pedagogy: Collaboration and technology in postsecondary teaching

to

With Dr. Irena Knezevic, Chair in Teaching Innovation at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.

Join this workshop on teaching innovation to discuss the use of digital technologies in teaching and learning. Dr. Knezevic will share early findings from her ongoing Digital Pedagogy Project to consider the following questions:

  • How can multimedia teaching materials best enhance learning experiences?
  • What are the possibilities and challenges of open-access educational resources?
  • How is technology use shaped by the diverse and sometimes competing interests of teachers, students, institutions, and technology firms?
  • What is the role of human relationships in technology-supported pedagogical practice?

Dr. Knezevic will offer some initial theoretical insights (informed by communication studies scholarship) and provide several examples of innovative technology use in various disciplines. She will then guide the workshop participants to actively reflect on their own teaching experiences and contexts. This interactive session will close with an open discussion of technology and teaching practices.
