Data CARE workshop I: Gender-Responsive Strategies for Equitable AI Futures

As the role of AI is becoming increasingly prominent in our society, we face both opportunities and challenges. While AI can serve useful purposes, it is important to ensure that it's being used in an inclusive and equitable way.
Data CARE Workshops
To address the barriers to equitable AI development and deployment, the Inclusive AI Lab is hosting a series of Data CARE Workshops. Through interdisciplinary and cross-sector dialogue, these workshops aim to inspire actionable insights and innovative strategies to build responsible, sustainable, and inclusive AI systems.
Gender Inequities in AI Tools
This first Data CARE workshop op April 9 will center around the impact of Generative AI tools on women, girls, and people with other gender identities, with a special focus on populations in the Global South and other groups systematically underrepresented in the design and deployment of these systems. During the event, implications of GenAI tools in reinforcing as well as challenging gender inequities will be discussed, with attention to the tools’ impacts on privacy, safety, freedoms, and empowerment.
