Do you have that one pair of jeans that you really liked, but has a hole in it because you ate too much last summer? Do you have a skirt that needs some sowing, and that you would love to spin around in on a beautiful Spring afternoon? Do you have any clothes that no longer fit you, but that could be really flattering on someone else? Well, it’s time to do something about that!
Clothing swap & repair café: Week van Tweedehands Textiel
What is this event about?
It just so happens that next week will be the first Week van Tweedehands Textiel (Second-hand textiles week) in the Netherlands. To commemorate this week, better inform our community about the necessity of a more circular clothing system, and to actually allow students to benefit from one, Green Office Utrecht is holding a mixed clothing swap + repair café event.
In this event, you are all welcome to bring clothes in good condition that you no longer use, or to rummage through what we get to see if you can find a new piece of thrifted treasure.
Make sure to bring any broken clothes with you as well, as members of our Circularity committee will be there to fix your clothes on the spot.
Find us at the wooden houses inside the Educatorium canteen, and let us make your Spring!
If the lifespan of a loved piece of clothing can be extended, why not breathe a little more life into it? We don’t think there is a valid reason to let these clothes go to waste, and that is why we are here to give you some support.
