CIRCULAR AGRICULTURE AND RESILIENT FOOD SYSTEMS.

In recent years it has become increasingly clear that we need a new view of food production in order to organize it in a sustainable way. Circular agriculture is a possible approach, in which you try to lose as few nutrients as possible, for example by feeding “rejected” vegetables to animals instead of harvesting feed specifically for animals. But what do we need to make a transition to circular agriculture? What risks are involved, and how can we anticipate them? What role does animal welfare play in this? We will enter into discussions with scientists and livestock farmers about how this transition can take place. Conversation led by Rebecca Nordquist, program in collaboration with Future Food Utrecht.
