Changemakers Balik/bayan & Maya Solidarity

Two activists, a Filipino diaspora organizer and a Filipino solidarity activist, will share their personal stories and the work they do within their collectives.

The session will cover urgent social, environmental, and political issues shaping the Philippines, including militarization, land destruction, forced migration, and other brutal consequences of imperialism. They will explore what is happening in the Philippines today and how it connects to work we can do here in the Netherlands. They will also reflect on the role of international solidarity and how everyone can play a meaningful part in supporting these struggles.
